To view the sea level rise scenario, click on the scenario tab at the top right hand side. Each sea level rise scenario will show both the Mean High Water Springs (MHWS-6) high tide, and 1% AEP (annual exceedance probability) storm-tide. A 1% AEP storm-tide has a 1% chance of occurring in any year.

How to search for a property on the coastal inundation map viewer

To search for a property, type the street number and name, for example 110 Trafalgar Street into the search box in the top right-hand side of the viewer and click on the magnifying glass.

If a property is within a sea level rise scenario, click on the property and a ‘pop up’ will appear. This provides information on the area (cell) that the property is within and the elevation of the MHWS-6 and 1% AEP storm tide elevation.

To search for an area such as Saxton or Nelson City Centre, click on the Bookmark symbol (top left hand side) to view predefined areas.
