The proposal is to amend the Urban Environments Bylaw. Council's City Amenity Bylaw expires in September 2024. Where it is necessary to address issues that continue to exist in the city centres, we are proposing to amend the Urban Environments Bylaw by adding some of the City Amenity Bylaw provisions to it. Council also proposes to make other changes to the Urban Environments Bylaw and to:

  • add a new part to the Urban Environments Bylaw (Part 6) to regulate activities in public places in the city centres
  • to amend parts Part 1 (Introduction)
  • to amend Part 2 (Definitions
  • to amend Part 5 (Trading in Public Places)
