Fulton Hogan has almost completed the work required before Waimea Road closes around 18 July 2022.

To make the detour along Rutherford Street safe, several changes have been made to the surrounding area.

The traffic islands at the main intersections have been removed, and the Van Diemen Street - Rutherford Street intersection has been widened (this allows buses to get around this corner safely).

In the next couple of days, temporary roundabouts will be installed at the intersection of Brougham Street and Rutherford Street, and at Brougham Street and Trafalgar Street.
