Good progress is being made on the Nayland Road watermain renewal, with Stage 1 almost complete. The final part of Stage 1 involves crossing the Nayland Road/Harford Court Intersection.

On the 12 and 13 June 2024, stop/go traffic management will be in place to allow this work to safely occur.

During this work our contractor, Schick Construction, will try to allow access to all resident’s driveways. There may be times when they are trenching across driveways which could cause delays and vehicle access won’t be available. Please talk to onsite staff if needed.

Following the completion of this intersection, the team will move onto Stage 2, This involves installing the watermain from Harford Court to Lusty Place. It is proposed to start on this work on 13 June 2024 and it will continue until early-July (weather dependent).

To make sure the project is completed quickly and safely, Nayland Road will remain closed to Northbound through traffic between Masefield Street and Songer Street. Traffic will continue to be detoured down Masefield Street, along Marlowe Street and then onto Songer Street.

We will be in touch again when we near the start of Stage 3.

We understand this work will be disruptive but replacing the pipe will reduce the risk of costly future failures that are becoming more common with the old pipe. Thank you in advance for your patience.
