The watermain on Nayland Road, between Aldinga Avenue and Songer Street, needs to be upgraded. This water pipe has failed multiple times over the past two years, so its replacement is essential to prevent future water disruptions.

This is a continuation of previous upgrades along Nayland Road.

To make sure the project is completed quickly and safely, Council will be closing the North Bound lane on Nayland Road between Masefield Street and Songer Street. Traffic will be detoured down Masefield Street, along Marlowe Street and then onto Songer Street. See the below detour map for more information.

Work is planned to begin on the 27 May 2024 and will go on for approximately three months (weather dependent). Residents along the route should expect to see flyers in your letterbox before work begins.

We understand this work will be disruptive, but replacing the pipe will reduce the risk of costly future failures that are becoming more common with the old pipe.
