Ching Contracting Ltd has been engaged by Nelson City Council to complete a stormwater upgrade on Mount Street. This will involve the installation of a new stormwater pipe down the road.

The contractor will be setting up on site on Monday 17 August and excavations will begin later that week. It is expected that works on the site will be complete in early December 2020.

Throughout the project, there will be times on some weekdays when the access to driveways may be restricted while the new pipes are installed. Residents will be informed before this happens.

During the works a Road Closure will also be in place with access to residents only. Access for residents may also change between Konini Street or Mount Street (depending on where the works are).

Signage will be in place directing pedestrians and a clearly marked parking bay will be set up. Cones designating no parking areas will be in place throughout the duration of the works.
