While the finishing touches are being put on the Maitai Recreation Hub, we are also working to improve the existing tracks to make it easier to get to the hub.

From Tuesday 26 April 2022, we will start work on improving the section of the Maitai shared pathway, from Sunday Hole to the Waahi Taakaro Golf Course.

From 26 April to 2 May – access across the paddock between Sunday Hole and the Waahi Taakaro Golf Course will be restricted as a new trail is being made. This track will generally follow the existing well-worn track.

Access across the paddock will be possible but care will be needed to avoid machinery, uneven surfaces on the site of work and uneven surfaces on non-worn tracks over the paddock.

Then from 2 May to 13 May 2022 – the shared pathway will be closed between Sunday Hole and the Waahi Taakaro Golf Course to allow for maintenance work which will involve heavy equipment.

Fingers crossed the weather plays ball so that this track work will be completed before the Recreation Hub opens to the public.
