July 2021 Update:

Unfortunately, lowering the speed limit and installing new signs has not impacted vehicle speeds on Selwyn Place.

Those speeds are still above 40km/h. To bring speeds closer to the 30km/h limit, and to increase safety for pedestrians, Council is proposing to trial traffic calming measures to make the low-speed environment more obvious.

This can be done in a way that sees more greenspace and colour on the street.

Scheduled Road Maintenance:

Road Maintenance is scheduled for the eastern end of Selwyn place from Trafalgar St to Collingwood Street in early 2022. This will involve resurfacing the road. To avoid ripping up fresh line markings we have scheduled the changes to this end of Selwyn Place to occur after the scheduled road maintenance. In the meantime we will run some trial changes on the western end of Selwyn Place before considering more permanent upgrades to the entire length of Selwyn Place as part of Stage 3 in 2022.
