After only one and a half weeks, the investigation work on Bridge Street has been completed. A fantastic effort from the team doing the work, with the majority of noisy work being completed in the early mornings, and resealing of the trenches and pits completed around lunchtime.

This meant that there was minimal disruption to businesses and customers along Bridge Street.

A big thank you to those businesses that put up with what noise there was (and the crew were very thankful for the coffees!)

During the work, we had two examples of a collaborative approach with private businesses. They were able to make use of our traffic management that was in place, with one property owner utilising a crane and another to fix a water leak.

As we move forward with this project we are asking businesses and property owners to keep this in mind so we can minimise disruption and maximise the amount of work that can be completed.

The next step in the project is to share the street designs with iwi, businesses, property owners and the wider public. The feedback we receive will help to inform the design, so we can make sure that Bridge Street will be better.
