On Monday 17 November, a drill shot for the new underground power cable running underneath the Trafalgar/Bridge St intersection will take place. The intersection will remain open while this work is carried out. Once complete, crews will continue the cable installation west along Bridge Street towards Rutherford Street.

Bridge Street between Trafalgar St and Rutherford St will drop to one lane while crews continue to install the new underground power cable.

During this stage, eastbound traffic towards Trafalgar Street will be closed, and the street will operate one-way westbound towards Haven Road. On-street parking will be restricted, but pedestrian access to all businesses will remain open.

Pedestrian access across the street will be available, and temporary disability parking areas will also be allocated.

There will be no right turn from Rutherford Street northbound, or left turn southbound, into Bridge Street. From Haven Road, traffic will be able to turn right into Bridge Street only. Buses will continue to exit onto Bridge Street as normal.

Work is expected to continue through to mid-December.
