Gravity trunk well

This photo shows the gravity trunk sewer inlet chamber that is attached to the larger pump station wetwell (tank) structure on the right side.

These structures are made of Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) and manufactured by Maskell Productions in Auckland.

The surrounding steel sheet-piles are supporting the deep excavation and you can see a sheet-pile trench line behind the chamber, extending back towards Awatea Place.

This trench line will be for the incoming 600mm diameter trunk sewer from Parkers Road via Awatea Place.

Safety fence line behind the excavation has black sound-proofing panels that help to mitigate the sound of the generator that is operating 24/7 for dewatering of the excavations needing to be kept dry.

Tanks

This photo shows the storage tank compound with two 4 metre diameter GRP tanks that are 19 metres long! (Each tank has a volume of 230,000 litres).

These tanks are also manufactured by Maskell Productions in Auckland.

The soundproofing fence panels in front of the compound are surrounding a small generator.

Work site

This photo shows the main pump station wetwell (tank) structure behind the storage tank compound (looking towards Awatea Place).

The pump station wetwell structure is Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) and has two 400mm diameter outlet pipes that will be connected to 2x KSB 130kW submersible pumps inside the tank.

Depth of the structure is 9m below finished ground level.

The loader and digger both belong to the main Contractor Hunter Civil Ltd from Christchurch.
