Nelson City Council regularly reviews our infrastructure network, and the pipes along Washington Terrace are in poor condition and need to be replaced. This includes stormwater and groundwater pipes as water is getting into the sewerage pipes which could lead to unwanted overflows.

Nelmac have been engaged to install a new wastewater pipe and a water pipe along Washington Terrace. This will include replacing the connections to the property boundary and reinstating the road surface after work.

Construction is scheduled to start 20 January 2025 and is estimated to be completed by early March 2025 (weather dependant).

Due to the narrow width of the road, a closure of Washington Terrace is the safest option for both public and workers.

Pedestrian and emergency access will be maintained at all times.
