As we have now moved to Alert Level 3, work will be restarting on the footpath and cycleway from Parkers Road through to the Waikare Street/Beach Road intersection.

The yellow line indicates the location where we intend to start work on Tuesday 28 April 2020. The project (red line) is expected to be completed in August 2020, weather permitting. The work will be undertaken between the hours of 7.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday.

As part of this project, on Wednesday 29 April 2020 – Wednesday 6 May (weather permitting) we will be working on the intersection of Green Street and Muritai Street (as shown in the picture below). This work will also be undertaken between the hours of 7.00am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.

There will be detours in place to access Green Street.

With both parts of this project, we will be putting traffic management signs in the parking bays parallel to the footpath. Unfortunately, this means some car parks will not be available. A pedestrian diversion will be in place and cyclists will be required to merge with traffic. A 30km/h speed restriction will also be in place. We ask that you please follow the traffic management signs and cross at the set locations.

Due to the current COVID19 situation, we have changed the way we will be doing some things. If you have a question about this letter or the works, then can you please contact the contractor using the phone numbers below rather than approaching workers on-site. If you do need to urgently speak with someone on-site, please get the attention of a worker but make sure you follow physical distancing guidelines (keeping 2 metres away from each other at all times).
