Moving down Muritai Street

2 June 2020

We are continuing to build the cycling network in our Smart Little City as the Tahunanui Pathways project continues the next stage of construction. This section runs along Muritai Street from the intersection of Green Street through to Centennial Road. It runs past Tahunanui School, so we are asking all road users to take particular care around this area.

Work will start on Tuesday 2 June and run until the beginning July (weather permitting). This work will occur between the hours of 7:00 am and 6:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

Traffic management will be placed in the parking bays parallel to the footpath, which unfortunately will mean that you won't be able to park in these spots. Additionally there will be a pedestrian diversion in place and cyclists will be merging with traffic, so the speed limit will drop to 30km/h.

We ask that you please follow the traffic management signs and cross at the signed locations.

We aim to minimise inconvenience where possible but we would respectfully ask you to be patient and follow the directions of our staff.

Thanks for your understanding while this important work is undertaken and please take extra care.
