Latest updates on the Seafield Terrace revetment project
Seafield Terrace at Glenduan suffered considerable damage in the November 2017 and February 2018 storms.
Although emergency works were undertaken to prevent further damage, there is still a risk to the road from weather events. If a significant event were to occur then there is a risk that Airlie Street residents could be cut off.
After consulting with affected residents and considering several options, Council agreed that something needed to be done to protect this area. The selected option was to progress with the remediation of Seafield Terrace.
This involves the construction of a six-metre wide rock revetment structure engineered to protect the road against a 5 -10 year storm event.
This work is now complete.
