State Highway 6 closure

25 July 2023

As part of the ongoing Saxton Creek Stage 4 upgrade, contractors need to lift a headwall (a retaining structure at the exit of the culvert) into place. This can only be done by crane from State Highway 6.

To ensure the safety of contractors and the public, we need to close the southbound lane of SH6 between the Nayland Road/Saxton Road off-ramp and the Salisbury Road roundabout.

The closure will occur on Monday 31 July and Tuesday 1 August from 7:30 pm to 6:00 am. This work is happening at night to minimise the impact on traffic.

Users will be able to enter the highway from the Quarantine Road end of SH6 and exit on the Nayland Road/Saxton Road off-ramp.
