Shifting from one side of the road to the other

23 February 2022

The current stage of work has been completed, and it is time to shift the work from the Saxton Field side of Main Road Stoke to the side closest to Alliance and Heslops Engineering.

To do this shift we need to close the road between Saxton Road and the Sailsbury Road roundabout.

Main Road Stoke will be closed overnight from 7 pm Wednesday 23 February to 6 am Thursday 24 February.

Richmond-bound traffic will be detoured down Saxton Road West and onto SH6 Richmond Deviation using the slip lane.

Stoke bound traffic will need to head along the SH6 deviation and turn towards Stoke at the Annesbrook roundabout. Kerry Marshall Drive will be closed except for emergency services, as it is not able to handle large quantities of traffic.

If you are catching a bus at this time, there might be delays. Go to the Track A Bus mobile app for the latest real-time updates (see details below).

Bus detour:

The southbound (Nelson to Richmond) buses on Main Road Stoke near Saxton Fields will continue to be diverted until 10 am Thursday 24 February.

This means two bus stops on Main Road Stoke outside Saxton Fields will not be used for pickup or drop-off.

Southbound buses will instead turn right at the Saxton Roundabout, travel along Saxton Road West and onto the SH6 Richmond Deviation before returning onto Salisbury Road in Richmond via the roundabouts (see Map below: yellow dotted line is the detour route).

This work will not affect northbound buses who will be able to travel through the closure (see Map below: green line indicates northbound route).

We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause. We really appreciate your patience while we transition to the next stage of this critical project.
