Following the August 2022 weather event, all of Nelson City Council's retaining walls were inspected to see if they held up to the significant volume of water and saturated soils.

Two retaining walls that were identified as needing repairs were on Arrow Street and Maori Road. To make sure our roads (and the piped infrastructure within those roads) remains protected, then we need to do a bit of work on these walls.

This work will get underway in mid-May and run through to the end of July. It will require road closures, so please be patient and take care if you are travelling in these areas.
