Bylaw - Public Notice – Section 48 (2) Reserves Act 1977 Content
EASEMENT TO BE GRANTED OVER A PORTION OF 7-25 PARU PARU ROAD FOR WASTEWATER PUMP STATION
SECTION 48(2); RESERVES ACT 1977 AND SECTION 82; LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 2002
Proposed Easements – Paru Paru Road Pump Station
The wastewater pump station at 7 Paru Paru Road is being upgraded to support the continued provision of reliable wastewater services to the surrounding area.
The site was selected because it already contains an operational wastewater pump station, is well placed within the wastewater network it serves, and has enough space for additional wet-weather storage to improve network resilience.
To facilitate the upgrade, Council requires additional rights over adjoining reserve land. The proposed works affect one portion of Council-owned reserve land adjoining the existing pump station, being:
- Part of Pleasure Ground Reserve (Part Section 148 City of Nelson).
Council proposes to grant an easement over the affected reserve land for the purpose of storing, draining, pumping and conveying water and sewage, including the construction, operation, maintenance, repair, renewal and replacement of associated wastewater infrastructure.
This notice is given pursuant to section 48(2) of the Reserves Act 1977.
To facilitate the upgrade, Council requires additional rights over adjoining fee simple endowment and freehold land. The proposed works affect four portions of Council-owned land adjoining the existing pump station, being:
- Part of Endowment Land (Lot 1 DP 19610, Lot 3 DP 18375, and Part Section 1167 CITY OF NELSON), and
- Part of Freehold Land (Part Section 148 (N.R) CITY OF NELSON).
Council proposes to grant easements over the affected park land for the purpose of storing, draining, pumping and conveying water and sewage, including the construction, operation, maintenance, repair, renewal and replacement of associated wastewater infrastructure.
This notice is given pursuant to section 82 of the Local Government Act 2002.
