Improving access around Sunday Hole, along with upgrading a culvert
The Maitai Shared Path around Sunday Hole is a popular track for recreation. But the track is too narrow, and a culvert was washed away in the August 2022 floods.
Work to widen the track and repair the culvert will begin on Monday 8 April 2024. This will require the closure of this section of the pathway. Please follow onsite signage directions. The work is expected to be completed by early June, weather dependent.

Shape Nelson website contains the copyrighted material, trademarks, patents, trade secrets and other proprietary information (“Intellectual Property”) and its suppliers and licensors. We own and retain all proprietary rights in the intellectual property. All intellectual property in the content of this site including without limitation to text, software, source code, pages, documents and online graphics, photographs, sounds, audio, video and other interactive features are owned by or licensed to us.
Any original content that you submit or post on our site may be made available to the public and allows users to share your content (with the end user acknowledging your contribution) under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 Australian License.
