Work on Main Road Stoke

19 April 2021

Temporary work on Main Road Stoke

Work is progressing well on the Poorman Stream Pathway project. Rock retaining is in place, and the pathway is taking shape.

The steps involve adjusting the kerb line to the entrance of the path, so mobility scooters, prams or bikes can easily access the pathway if they are crossing the road.

To undertake this work safely, traffic needs to be shifted out towards the centre of the road to create a buffer area.

The concrete islands of the existing pedestrian refuge create a challenge as they are right where traffic would need to be. To work around the pedestrian refuge, a ramp is to be constructed over top of the concrete islands to allow vehicles to travel over the islands and maintain two-way traffic on Main Rd Stoke.

The ramp is planned to be constructed on Monday night, (19/04/2021) outside of peak traffic, between 6 pm and 11 pm.

The ramp will be in place until Friday (23/04/2021), weather dependent and removed at the completion of the work.

Thanks for helping us keep our worksites safe by travelling carefully through this area.
