The aging wastewater pipes under Parere Street need to be replaced. Replacing the pipes will improve the reliability of the network, while increasing capacity for future growth in the area.

While we replacing the pipes then we will also look to strengthen the roadway. This will improve the durability and make it safer and more resilient for all users.

Preconstruction investigation (potholing - digging down to confirm the location of pipes and services) will start on 19 October 2026.

The first stage of construction will run from late November 2026 and will be complete prior to Christmas 2026.

The second stage of construction will start from 5 January 2027 and continue through to late February 2027.

In March and April 2027 we will upgrade the footpaths in the street too.
