We aim to have a council of young people with a passion for the Nelson region and the community they represent. We meet monthly in the Council Chamber to discuss youth issues, actions, and projects that are important to the Youth Community.

We make submissions to Council, support youth events and projects, and sponsor youth awards. We also run our own projects and initiatives around issues we have found important to young people in the community.
A Youth Councillor attends most Nelson City Council meetings and workshops to provide a youth voice to Council.
