The Rural Mayoral Relief Fund is a joint fund across Tasman District Council and Nelson City Council, administered by Nelson City Council.
The fund has $45,000 available to distribute to Primary Industry Businesses impacted by the August storm event.
If your farm suffered financial loss due to the August weather event you are invited and encouraged to apply to this fund using the attached form.
Consideration will be given to:
- essentials for business operation (directly impacted by the storm event)
- costs not covered by insurance or other funds such as MSD or IRD support
- funding will be prioritised for activities that benefit multiple businesses.
A special committee will meet to consider all applications. Grants will be up to $1000 generally, but the committee will have some discretion depending on the number of applications and size of the farm.
Applicants will then be advised of the outcome via email and payment will be made into the nominated bank account the following week.
