In March 2025, construction will begin on a new anchored timber pole retaining wall on the underside of the road, adjacent to 35 Konini Street.

The August 2022 weather event caused some instability in this area, which needs to be protected to ensure the long-term stability of the road and the surrounding infrastructure.

To make sure this work can be done as quickly and safely as possible, a road closure at the retaining wall location will be required. Konini Street will remain open at both ends up to the work site. Detours will be in place.

The work is going to be completed in two stages.

Stage 1 - between no.33 and no.68 on Wednesday 12 March and Thursday 13 March
Stage 2 - between no.33 and no.38 from Wednesday 12 March to late April

  • There will be no vehicle access for residents/businesses, couriers and home help within the closure zones (except in an emergency). Detours will be in place.
  • No roadside parking will be available please park further along the street, there will be signage to direct you.
  • Pedestrian access will be provided safely and will be available to all properties within the closure zone.
  • Rubbish and recycling bins will be collected as normal.
