The stream that runs along Little Todd Valley Road was heavily impacted in the August 2022 weather event, and subsequent weather events.

A detailed investigation and modelling of the Little Todd Valley stormwater network indicated that the culverts along the Little Todd Valley Stream and Todd Bush Road Culvert are undersized. The investigations indicated the need to improve the stream capacity, and improve the roadside drainage.

Council's approach is to complete these works in TWO stages.

Stage 1 involves :

• Providing wingwalls and stream capacity improvements on and around the Todd Bush Road Culvert.
• Replacing the twin culvert at 20 Little Todd Valley Road with a box culvert (2m x 2.5m Box culvert) and stabilising the stream section upstream.

Stage 2 involves:

• Road Culvert replaced with a bridge downstream of 45 Little Todd Valley.
• Road reprofiling around the road culverts upstream and downstream of 45 Little Todd Valley to divert the water back into the stream and reduce overflow down the road.

The two-stage approach also ensures that the downstream end of the Little Todd Valley stream has sufficient capacity to safely handle rain events without transferring storm effects from the upstream end.
