How will we shape what our city centre looks like?

24 March 2021

Thank you for following our Streets for People page on Shape Nelson. We received over 800 submissions in total for this project. All feedback has been reviewed by our City Development team as it works towards developing a City Centre Spatial Plan for Nelson.

A spatial plan is a 'blueprint' for our city that sets out a plan of action for where and how we should shape our city over the next 30 years.

We have created a new Shape Nelson page which will be dedicated to the City Centre Spatial Plan - and we invite you to follow this project to stay up-to-date with the latest information and opportunities to have your voice heard.

Over the next four months, the City Development team will be hosting meetings to listen to people from a diverse range of community sectors. The feedback we receive will be used to help create the draft City Centre Spatial Plan. It is envisioned that the draft plan will go out for public submissions in July 2021.

Would you like to take part in these pre-engagement meetings?

They will be 45 minutes long and there will be one per month for the next four months.

If you are keen then please email your name and a contact number to citycentre@ncc.govt.nz and we’ll be in touch with more details.
