We've made some big progress on improving our wastewater network in our Smart Little City over the last few years.
A key focus of this work has been preventing overflows that could occur during wet weather (this links to our Inflow and Infiltration Project).
On Beach Road, we will be installing a 35 metre long storage tank. This tank will be under the existing carparks to minimise any disruption to residents or users of the playing fields.
This tank will take pressure off our pump stations (including the adjacent Beach Road Pump Station), reducing the chance of wastewater overflows on the network. It also helps us mange our wastewater when we need to undertake any maintenance work.
