Nelson City Council has a number of commercial forests in our region. We want to make sure that we are managing these forests in a way that has the most positive outcomes for our region, environmentally, economically and socially.

We are seeking Forest Stewardship Certification for the management of our Brook, Maitai, Roding and Marsden Valley Forests. This certification will show that our forests are managed according to industry best practice.

NCC has committed to the PF Olsen FSC Group scheme, and they have developed an FSC management plan for us to achieve the certification.
